Surgery Specialty Intern (DVM)

Virginia Vogt

Dr. Virginia Vogt earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia. She then completed a rotating internship at Auburn University before joining Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists as a Surgical Specialty Intern in 2026.

Dr. Vogt was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine after the loss of a beloved pet, an experience that showed her just how meaningful the human-animal bond can be. Before veterinary school, she discovered a passion for surgery and was inspired by the impact surgical procedures can have on a pet’s quality of life. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and surgical oncology and is excited to continue advancing her surgical training.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Vogt enjoys cooking, baking, and discovering new vegetarian restaurants. She also loves taking her schnauzer mix, Ellie, on adventures—whether it’s a hike or a quick trip across town. Ellie has been by her side since 2020, accompanying her through veterinary school, her rotating internship, and now her surgery internship at GCVS.
