Samantha Mintz
Dr. Samantha Mintz began her academic journey at the University of Prince Edward Island, completing the first two years of her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis, completing her clinical rotations at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2025, Dr. Mintz joined Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists to begin her Avian & Exotics specialty internship.
While attending Ross University, she was a leading member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and Shelter Medicine student chapters. She was a very active member of the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network, contributing to ongoing research projects and caring for the animals in the rehabilitation programs. While in Missouri, Dr. Mintz was heavily involved in the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine’s Raptor rehabilitation project, where she helped rehabilitate and release injured/sick hawks, eagles, and owls. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Mintz completed a 13-month specialty internship in Avian/Exotic medicine and Surgery at the Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell, Washington.
When not in the veterinary hospital, she enjoys spending time with Tucker, her Hyacinth macaw, and Bauer, her labradoodle. She also has a love of ice hockey and enjoys watching and playing in her free time.
