Dr. Renee Fuentes earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, with a minor in Agricultural Economics, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. She graduated with honors from both programs. In June 2026, Dr. Fuentes joined Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists as a Rotating Intern, where she is expanding her clinical training across a wide range of specialty and emergency services.  

Born and raised in El Salvador, she grew up surrounded by veterinary medicine, inspired by her father, who is a veterinarian. She has always been passionate about helping animals feel better and finds it especially rewarding to work closely with their families throughout their pets’ care. Dr. Fuentes has a special interest in diagnostic imaging, particularly ultrasound, and is passionate about providing exceptional care to Spanish-speaking families to give back to the community that has supported her throughout her career.  

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Fuentes enjoys spending time with her family, playing volleyball, and trying new restaurants.
