Dr. Nick Kirk grew up in Nashville, TN, and earned their veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. They went on to create and complete an ABVP-Avian Practice residency in Utah, which advanced their passion for high-quality, specialized avian medicine. Before joining GCVS, they owned their own practice, Migratory Avian Services, where they gained extensive experience working with multiple avian and exotic collections. In addition to specialty medicine, Dr. Kirk is passionate about emergency medicine and has worked in avian, exotic, dog, and cat emergency medicine throughout their career.

Outside of work, Dr. Kirk enjoys playing trumpet, exploring local coffee shops and music venues, and spending time with his wife Dawn, their Amazon Billy Rubin, and their cat Cricket Barbara Pickle. They’re also a big fan of tabletop role-playing games and motorcycle trips.
