Michelle Mendoza

Dr. Michelle Mendoza is a board-certified veterinary neurologist who is passionate about helping patients regain mobility and improving quality of life for pets and their families. Dr. Mendoza earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Texas A&M University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees from Lincoln Memorial University. She then completed a rotating internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, followed by a specialty internship and neurology residency at Mississippi State University. Dr. Mendoza became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) in 2026.   

Dr. Mendoza’s clinical interests include intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), spinal tumors, meningoencephalitis of unknown origin (MUO), spinal surgery, and epilepsy. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is seeing patients regain the ability to walk and helping them return to a better quality of life alongside their families.   

Outside the hospital, Dr. Mendoza enjoys horseback riding and barrel racing, running and competing in triathlons, caring for her plants, and a good cup of coffee. She shares her time with her cat, Waffles, and two horses, Gracie and Bubba.
