Dr. Guzmán-Sánchez, born and raised in Puerto Rico, began her academic journey close to home, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Universidad de Puerto Rico. Driven by her interest in advancing health promotion within veterinary medicine, she pursued a Master of Public Health in Health Education at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Her dedication to the field led her to complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in 2023.
Her career in veterinary medicine commenced with a rotating internship at BluePearl Maitland-Orlando, where she gained invaluable experience managing complex cases that inspired her further for specialization. With a growing interest in neurological diseases and MRI as a diagnostic tool, Dr. Guzmán-Sánchez undertook a Neurology Specialty Internship at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.
Eager to broaden her expertise in imaging beyond neurology, she started a residency in Diagnostic Imaging, with MRI remaining a focal point of her clinical and academic pursuits.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Guzmán-Sánchez embraces an active lifestyle. She enjoys early morning workouts while spending her free time pursuing passions like kiteboarding, boxing, salsa dancing, and traveling to discover new kiteboarding destinations.
