Emergency Clinical Manager
Katie Carlson
With nearly three decades of experience in veterinary medicine, Katie Carlson brings unmatched passion and dedication to the GCVS team. Her career is a true full-circle story, having worked her way through almost every role in a hospital setting, from kennel assistant and receptionist to technician and practice manager. Along the way, she earned her Certified Veterinary Assistant III (CVA III) credential, further solidifying her commitment to the profession.
Her journey into veterinary medicine began unexpectedly at the age of 18, when she took a job in the kennel of a large hospital. Although she had always loved animals, it wasn’t until that role that she realized veterinary medicine was her true calling. Over the years, her passion led her to discover her love for emergency medicine. Since stepping into her role as Emergency Charge Technician at GCVS, she has known this is exactly where she belongs. In addition to emergency care, she also has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine/rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Katie is a mixed-media artist who enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring nature. At home, she and her husband are raising two children, ages 23 and 8, along with their beloved pets: Rooster, a 2-year-old English Setter; Luc-E, a 6-year-old cat; and two tortoises, affectionately known as Mr. and Mrs.
