DVM
Jessica Richardson
Dr. Jessica Richardson earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Biological Sciences, along with a minor in Biochemistry, from the University of Georgia in 2012. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. In 2026, Dr. Richardson joined Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists as a Rotating Intern, where she is expanding her clinical training across a wide range of specialty and emergency services.
She has wanted to become a veterinarian since she was young and loves that the profession allows her to combine her passion for science, medicine, animals, and people. She especially enjoys building relationships with pet owners and working together to provide the best possible care for their pets.
Dr. Richardson hopes to specialize in neurology and neurosurgery and is drawn to the specialty because it combines both medicine and surgery. She finds it especially rewarding to help patients recover from complex neurological conditions and regain their quality of life.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Richardson enjoys horseback riding, traveling, attending concerts, hiking, and exploring Houston’s food scene with her husband and young son. She also has three horses and three cats. Before veterinary school, she spent nearly a decade traveling and working in veterinary medicine throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
