Diagnostic Imaging Resident (DVM)

Irene Kim

Dr. Irene Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2019 before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia in 2023. She completed a rotating internship at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver, British Columbia, followed by a Specialty Internship in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Missouri. In 2026, she joined Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists as a Diagnostic Imaging Resident.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kim enjoys exploring new restaurants, practicing yoga and Pilates, traveling, and discovering new music to add to her playlists. She shares her home with her tortie cat, Jobu, whom she adopted during her final year of veterinary school while on a shelter spay-and-neuter rotation. Since then, Jobu has accompanied her on every move—from Australia to Vancouver to Missouri, and now Houston.
