Dr. Carlos Davila earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Colorado State University before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Texas A&M University.  

Inspired by a lifelong passion for animals, wildlife, and science, Dr. Davila pursued veterinary medicine after working at a raptor center during his undergraduate studies. He was drawn to the unique challenge of diagnosing and treating patients who cannot advocate for themselves and finds great fulfillment in helping them receive the care they need. His professional interests include avian medicine, diagnostics, and clinical pathology. 

In June 2026, Dr. Davila joined the GCVS Houston team as a Rotating Intern, where he is continuing to expand his clinical knowledge and skills while working alongside our specialists across multiple disciplines.  

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Davila enjoys mountain biking, birding, camping, hiking, running, and cooking. He shares his home with two dogs, Hooch and Marley, and two cats, Mirabel and Tilly.
