Patient Care Technician – Diagnostic Imaging

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists is a referral only veterinary specialty practice that provides the highest quality, most comprehensive specialized care for companion animals using technologically advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment along with a group of dedicated veterinary specialists and staff. We currently have an opportunity in our diagnostic imaging department for a patient care technician to fill a permanent, full time position in our fast-paced, cutting edge practice. The patient care technician must be able to work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and be adaptable to quickly changing situations. The main job duties include performing diagnostic imaging, assisting sonographers and radiologists, anesthesia induction, maintenance and monitoring of anesthesia, procedure preparation of patients, restraint, data entry, and day-to-day department duties. Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays is a must. Applicant must be reliable, able to work in a team environment, adaptable to quickly changing situations, and a self-starter. Good patient restraint and a loving disposition with animals is a must. Previous kennel technician experience is preferred. Job Type: Full-time Required education: Applicants must be graduates of an AVMA approved Veterinary Technology Program and must have their LVT status or obtain it within two years of employment. Available Shifts: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm
