Veterinary Assistant – Surgery
Our Veterinary Assistants work closely with our surgeons, interns, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, and Client Patient Service Coordinators to provide optimal care for our patients. They are responsible for providing patient restraint for assisting our DVMs and LVTs with examination, treatment, collection of lab samples, bandage changes and anesthesia induction. We are looking for Veterinary Assistants to assist in setting up operating rooms, transporting instruments and equipment to and from the operating rooms and assist with taking radiographs for our surgical patients. Veterinary Assistants maintain the cleanliness of the prep and operating rooms and radiology and will also help with sterile instrument processing. Veterinary Assistants will also obtain an Ethylene Oxide Operator Certification.
Requirements: Applicants should have a minimum of one year of experience in the veterinary field, have a strong desire to work with animals in a hospital setting, be able to walk and stand for extended periods and lift and carry 50 lbs. CVA certification preferred. Applicants must be able to work on Saturdays.
