Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists provides the highest quality, most comprehensive specialized care for companion animals using technologically advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment along with a group of dedicated veterinary specialists and staff in surgery, cardiology, critical care, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, nutrition, and oncology.
The diagnostic imaging department is currently looking for a sonographer to fill a permanent, full-time position in our fast-paced, cutting edge practice to perform ultrasound studies on patients. This position will include abdominal, muscoluskeletal and cardiac ultrasonography on all types of veterinary patients, equipment care and maintenance, and assistance in other areas of veterinary imaging as time permits. Training will be provided as needed for transition into veterinary ultrasonography from human ultrasonography. Musculoskeletal and cardiac experience and/or training is not expected of our candidates as hands on training will be provided.
This position may require evening and weekend availability.

Applicants must be RDMS Registered. It is preferable for applicants to have experience with animals but no veterinary ultrasound experience necessary. Applicants must be comfortable with all types of pets and highly interested in pursuing a career in the veterinary field. Good communication with all doctors and staff is essential to the success and quality assurance of the ultrasound procedure. It is critical that applicants can work in a team environment, have excellent time management skills and be adaptable to quickly changing situations to be successful in our busy and demanding environment.
