Surgery Client Patient Coordinator – Assistant
Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery is uniquely equipped to treat a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, oncologic, thoracic and soft-tissue problems. Our orthopedic surgeons are respected leaders in joint replacement and arthroscopic surgical techniques. Our soft-tissue surgeons have developed specialized procedures and protocols for respiratory, hepatic and oncological conditions, in addition to offering expert reconstructive, thoracic and abdominal surgical techniques. We are accepting applications for full-time skilled assistant for the Client Patient Service Coordinator (CPC) team in the surgery department. Candidates must be available to work Monday-Friday. This position requires a very organized, energetic, proactive, and dependable person capable of managing multiple tasks at the same time. Our CPCs work as the doctor’s right hand, relaying information to our clients and staff while organizing the daily activities of the doctor. They are also client advocates, ensuring the needs and concerns are addressed on all levels.

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Communicate and coordinate with CPCs so they can appropriately manage their day
- assisting with appointments
- maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, exam rooms, kennel space and traffic areas.
- stocking designated areas
- Assist CPCs and clinical Doctors with outpatients or patients being discharged. This may include patient restraint, assisting with bandage changes, checking the hygiene of a patient before it leaves and retrieving or delivering patients on a gurney or assisting clients with a patient,
- Medical records
- Performing general function of the phone system
- Patient transport
- Receive admits
- Transfer patients to other areas of hospital
Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Previous veterinary experience is required. Applicant must be reliable, able to work in a team environment, adaptable to quickly changing situations, and a self-starter. Good patient restraint and a friendly disposition with pets is a must. Salary is competitive and directly related to experience.
Required education: High school or equivalent and two years of veterinary experience.
