Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time energetic and organized Referral Coordinator to be the liaison between our clients, referring veterinarians, and the GCVS staff.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong desire to provide the highest quality of care to our clients and patients. The Referral Coordinator will act as a liaison between the referring veterinarian and GCVS. The Referral Coordinator must be friendly, professional, courteous, and capable of handling many tasks at once with many interruptions. They must remain calm, even when very busy or when dealing with confrontational clients. This is a fast-paced position that requires the ability to handle multiple requests with grace and poise, appropriate etiquette, good computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, the ability to make changes, organization, the ability to be personable, quick thinking, and the ability to function efficiently in a high stress environment. It is the Referral Coordinator’s responsibility to make sure that our referring veterinarians and clients get the assistance they need when visiting GCVS.
This is a new full-time position whose primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Review and call new referrals to schedule appointments
- Monitor schedules for accuracy
- Manage wait lists for departments
- Confirm upcoming appointments
- Call for medical records for upcoming appointments
- Assist referring veterinarians with any aspect of the referral process
- Communicate with referring veterinarians via email and phone
- Maintain the referring veterinarian database
Requirements: Our Referral Coordinator must have at least a high school diploma, and ideally 2 years experience working as a receptionist in a multi-doctor medical or veterinary practice.
