The preoperative
radiographs (top) show end-stage osteoarthritis. The knee had
previous surgery many years ago for a torn anterior cruciate
ligament. The postoperative radiographs (bottom) show the cobalt
chrome femoral condyle in place articulating with the ultra high
molecular weight polyethylene tibial component. Only the outline
of the tibial component is visible on radiographs. Both implants
are held in place with polymethylmethcrylate (PMMA) (bone
cement). |
