Dr. Kegge attended Rice University and the University of Houston prior to obtaining her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University in 2003. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia, followed by a residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the Ohio State University and Tufts University. From 2007 to 2010, Dr. Kegge practiced neurology and neurosurgery at the demanding Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 2010, she returned home to Houston to reestablish her Texas roots and be closer to her family. Gulf Coast Veterinary Neurology welcomed Dr. Kegge to its neurology team in 2011.

Dr. Vasquez is a native Texan who grew up in the south Texas town of Brownsville prior to receiving her bachelor’s degree in radio/television/film from the University of Texas. She worked in the local film and video industry working on political campaigns as well as public service announcements, movies, and commercials. Her love of animals and science led her to receive her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University in 2007. She completed a small animal internship, a neurology/neurosurgery residency, and a master’s in biomedical sciences at the University of Missouri in 2011. Her research involving the development of electrodiagnostic techniques in dogs won the 2010 ACVIM Forum Resident Research Award in Neurology. Dr. Vasquez became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) in 2011. Throughout her travels, she has remained a Texan and has returned to her roots by joining the Gulf Coast Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery team in August 2011. Her interests are neurodegenerative disorders such as canine degenerative myelopathy.
